Original Item: Only One Available. WWI era issued to front line troops fighting in trenches, this ingenious little lantern would typically be maker marked on a round brass plaque MARQUE DEPOSEE LB with Owl logo. However, this example does not appear to have had a plaque ever applied.

Standing 7" tall it is designed to fold flat for easy storage and transportation. Triangular cross sections, two sides have celluloid windows through which the light from the single candle can illuminate. Remember, in trench warfare any light whatsoever attracted fire, so it was imperative to be as discrete as possible.
